Right Lane Closed in 1 Mile…

Hello there all you wonderful internet land dwellers. 😀

I’m stoppin’ in for a quick update…I have sooooo much to blog about!!!! 😮

Comic Cons to Writers Retreats to Memorials of a loved ones passing to More on the Fish News Front!

But first I am making some changes to my blog.  I was going to make some big changes a few months back and I didn’t because I was still unsure about what to do, but Now I’m Positive about what to do….I think. ;)-

So, in the next few days when my life slows down enough to actually Breathe…more on that later… I will be changin’ some things around on here.  I will update as I go.

Until then, have an Awesome Sauce Week!!

I’m off to a Writer’s Workshop with my Randomkiddos.

A Fish Tale- The Continuing Saga…

Hello there again all you lovely people of internet land.  We had some more fish fun today, but I’ll share that another time.  It’s better to start at the beginning.

Now where did I leave off last time?  Oh, yes.  We had the tank all set up and the fish were swimming around with all the happy feels a fish could have.

Now when we got the fish from their owner she gave us the basics of fish care and we had looked up the rest.  But they are just fish right?  I wouldn’t need to know any previous history on the fish right?  I mean they are just fish…feed em, make sure their water is filtered well, aerated, do a water change so they can be happy.  Fairly straight forward you’d think.

But no, it’s apparently Not as easy as it sounds.  As we were soon to find out.

Let the tale of the fish saga begin.

A Fish Tale…

Hello everybody! Long time, no see. 🙂

Ok, I said before on here somewhere that I homeschool my Randomkid.
Randomkid Senior graduated last year and my youngest Randomkid started his highschool years this year. Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay

Anyhoo, we are covering a lot of the basic courses that most freshman cover like Biology. We chose a Bio book that looked interesting and away the kid went on his little way. I figured we’d do some dissections…online and in real life and voila, instant credit with labs. A snap, right?
Wrong.

November 16th, 2016…

Dear Diary,
I mean WordPress,

I have finally come back to The Land of the Internet Lulz. 😀
After a long hiatus due to the dreaded Homeschool Apocalypse that we will call the Randomkid Youngest’s first year of highschool, I am back for some much needed typing of Completely Nonsensical Ramblings and Made-Up-Isms. 😉

I have been incredibly busy teaching this last final kiddo of mine so that I can see him out the door correctly in three more years and finally be on my own to have more time for blogging. 😉
I am Absolutely joking…kind of.

No, for reals, school has been going quite well.  We are just Incredibly Busy!
My life is full of School, Group Activities, Field Trips, More School, Social Events with Friends, More School, More Group Activities, More Field Trips, and More Friendly Social Events!
My oldest was Never this Active and he’s the more Social kid out of the two.  Ack!

I have also been working on finishing my Bicusped Molar and the Gap-Toothed Monster Manuscript. 🙂

I just finished working out details on illustrations. So I can begin drawing in earnest. 😀
And even though I haven’t totally Fleshed out the ending to the story, I’ve started rewrites on the first half of the book.  Lol

So, between cooking, cleaning, dishes, laundry, and school… I am still finding time to work on my writing goals.
But alas and alack, there hasn’t been any wiggle room to fit in Blogging. 😦

I miss you all in Internet Land.  Hopefully I can visit more often.

I’ve started a new idea with the Last Randomkid in School-dom.
He is starting up a WordPress site as part of Creative Writing in English.
So soon we can blog at the same time…his idea, not mine.  Isn’t he just the sweetest Randomkid Ever!! 😀

Okay, I’m off to finish The Hound of the Baskervilles literary discussion, Resumes for Mock Interviews for Speech Class, and Biology with Ye Olde Randomkid.

Have an Awesome Sauce Kinda Day Today all my Internet Peeps!!
Love ya lots and hopefully I’ll be able to come out and play more.

TTFN,
The Bluemoon Thinker 🙂

P.S.~
I’m dropping a pic on my Random Places Press & flingin a poem at my Random Stories Press… Feel free to meander over there if ya have the time. Latah, Peeeeace!

Hello October…Wait, what?

Somehow the new month is upon us like a leopard pouncing from an innocent looking tree limb.

School has handed me a plate of boy-howdy-is-this-a-lot-of-work this year.

I am still attempting to work on my books and meet my January deadline for finishing my Bicusped Molar book, but life is coming at me a bit fast.  :/

I’ve bookended our school week with Homeschool group-type activities on every Monday and Friday.  Leaving only Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday to finish regular school work.

Thursday is still my personal writing day, but when I add field trips, dental/ortho appts, doctor appts, social activities, or pop-up Homeschool days out, it Really cuts into our 3 days to get things done.

I’m Extremely glad that my Randomkid Youngest isn’t working outside of the home as of yet or I would Really be pulling my hair out. Ack!

So, in order to sneak in writing and/or art I try to work it into the actual homeschool schedule.  If we are doing art I pick an activity that I can practice something for my illustrations and hopefully the Randomkid learns a new art form or new art technique.

And the Randomkid is working on a few manuscripts as well, so working in writing is not a problem.

Really it all gets back to that elusive shadowed specter named time.  I just never seem to have enough of it.  😦

I just finished watching a three part series on FB with tips on how to set aside time for writing.

The speaker challenged writers to map out what your day looks like from morning to evening for an entire week…three weeks is preferred, but reality is a week will be all I get done.

The idea is that after writing down your activities for a week or so you can see just where you might have free time and prioritize what you Really need to work on during that time.

I know right now that I need to reprioritize my screen time from research/recreational watching to actual Focused writing time. :/

I am starting off the month with my no FB, Pinterest, Netflix, Youtube time until after 7pm, unless I am in motion on some form of exercise machine.  ;)-

That really seemed to work well for me during the month of September and helped me to get moving more often.

Because the reward for movement was screen time.  Rofls

So, maybe after I get through this week I will be able to discover my hidden free time and use it for good instead of evil.  Ha!  😄

TTFN,

The Bluemoon Thinker  🙂

P.S.-  Happy October!  May your leaves all fall exactly where you would like them to and may they stay in the piles where they are placed.  ;)-

Happy Leaf Jumping!

Happy Fall Ya’ll!

This morning I woke up at 6am…don’t ask. :/   Grumble, grumble, roar
But on the bright side I was happily greeted by Snoopy when I checked the time on my Ipod announcing the arrival of Fall.
Aaaand the temperature outside…at least this morning actually Felt like Fall. Yay!

Of course, I still have to clean up the paltry and sad leftover skeletons from my garden, but soon it will be gloriously cool and refreshingly breezy.  So cleaning up will be fun and enjoyable.

Now that fall is officially upon us, I can look forward to the annual changing of the guard foliage-wise.
I will be found outside all the time, honing my craft, running down my camera battery, and filling my laptop to the brim with pictures. 😀

Of course, I will still be diligently working on my writing and my art.

For the time being, I have put my robot book series to the side.
I have a short children’s book about a tooth fairy that I’ve been working to complete and I’ve given myself a deadline of January, Ack!, to finish the rough draft including illustrations.
I still have a few chapters to write and ten or more illustrations to work on. 😀

In addition to that I will also be working on watercolors for a children’s picture book that my friend helped me dream up in my spare time. Lols

Any available time that I have after that will be spent trying out new art forms for my illustrations….still would like to learn calligraphy for my picture book. 😀

I almost forgot, last time I posted I said I would update ya’ll about the Writer’s Workshop that I was attending.

I MUST say I had an absolutely Encouraging and Brilliant time!
Thank you Lancaster Christian Writers for once again providing this free monthly event.  It is truly a blessing.

Of course Every single thing, large and small, that the speaker said confirmed to me what the Lord has already been telling me to do….don’t ya just love it when that happens. 😉
I was sitting there thinking the entire time…
I know, I know.  Yup, I get it already.  In it to win it and I’m on it like it’s yesterday.  Ha!
Write, Draw, Edit, Repeat. 😀

So, on top of Homeschool, Family Busyness, and my Writing and Artying, I will be working on revamping my blog sites.  I’d like to put them all in one easy to find locale and I will be attempting to write on a more scheduled basis.

…Of course reading that last sentence make me chuckle already.  Schedules are Not my besties.  They are a much Needed tool for my highly distractable and tangent loving ADD/Aspie mind, but I Absopositively DO NOT LIKE THEM!  Pleh!

My creativity has trouble being creative within a preordained time frame….Probs why I will NEVER be able to sign with a publisher.
Well, unless they are a company run completely by ADD/Aspie-esque hippie people who are EXtremely laid back, fun-loving, and like can chillax dude. Rofls ;)-

There I go again, wandering off to who knows where land on the Rabbit-Trails-R-Us Transit Line. Oy

Aaaaaanyhoo,  I will be back for a visit real soon ya’ll.

TTFN,
The Bluemoon Thinker 🙂

P.S.- Anyone have any opinions out there in Blogolog land about WordPress’s Pay sites?  I think that may be the direction I am heading in.  But I would love some feedback from my fellow Internet Land dwellers before I stumble headlong through the thornbrush hedgerow into a Pay to Play WordPress Website.

Please leave a comment, 10 lines, or 25 words in the box below as per usual.

Enjoy your creativity and learn a little something from every new experience. 🙂
Happy Crafting!! 😀

Cooking, Typing, and Cheerin’ up a Friend…

So it’s been a fun and Ridiculously busy week!  Writing?  Ha!  What writing!

Arty-ing?  Ha!  What is that…although ALL of my stuff is sitting right where I left it from last week’s Create Date. Lols

…Okay,  scratch that last comment…I did go over to a friend’s house this week and she let me play with her Calligraphy set.  Thank you random citizen!  ;)-

Side note:  I’ve decided to learn calligraphy in my spare time..rofls!..so that I can use it in my picture books.  I think it will look Waaay cool with the watercolor or pencil or whatever it is I end up using on a book.

But back to my topic… Cooking, Typing, and Cheering up a Friendee.

Yesterday I was minding my own business…trying to finish up supper so I could attend my weekly Writer’s group Scribes Oasis.  When I was tagged by a friend to get in on a Rootin’ Tootin’ Sticker Party on Facebook.

That’s my Favorite activity on FB by the way…well, that and reposting comics, funny memes, exercise workouts, and grain-free foodie recipes. 😀

Now, I had a Wonderful time at the party, but sadly my supper did Not.

I burned my chicken twice…because some parties turn into Craziness.  This one did.  There were so many threads to keep track of.  When I finally got out to the kitchen my chicken was feeling a bit singed and tired of the whole FB thing.

So, I finished up my crispy chicken and threw in some garlicky green beans….Of course they were caught up in the whole Facebook party as well and took a turn at feeling overdone a bit…okay maybe blackened a smidge.

The fam said that it all tasted fine in the end, my friendee had a happy time on FB, and I was inspired to write this blog post. 😀

All’s well that ends well, and friends first – food second right?? Ha!  😄

Tomorrow I will be heading to the kick off of our Lancaster Christian Writer’s Group.  Hopefully I learn something fun.  😀

More on that Monday.

TTFN,

The Bluemoon Thinker  🙂

P.S.-  Always remember to attend any and all Facebook Sticker Wars, Partays, or Throw Downs.  They are heaps of fun and everyone Always has a great time.  Friends first- Food second.  Viva  La Stickers!!

Crud!  I think I just burned the bacon!  😄

Happy Overdone-ness! 😀

Create Date Awesomeness!!!

Yesterday I had a way cool Create Date with two lovely friends. 😀

We are all interested in writing, art, photography, and just all around in general Creative Type Stuff!  So we came up with an idea to have a Create Date.

How it works-

Everyone brings stuff that they would like to work on that they normally wouldn’t take the time to do on their own.

You know how those annoying excuses crop up to keep us away from being creative like:

I just cleaned the house and I don’t want to get it all messy again.

or

If I pull everything out I will want to let it sit out for a day or two while everything dries/hardens/insert other arty type term and then we won’t have a kitchen table to sit at.

or

I don’t want to pull the art stuff out for just Me, do I??

or

Kids: Look, Mom just pulled out the art stuff!

Me: No, wait…

Kids: Dog-pile!!

Me: Aaarrgh…blub..blub..blub.

…I don’t know what sound effect describes being drowned in kids. 😉

Anyhoo, so just us ladies got together and had a fun day of creativity!

I practiced some new art techniques that I’d like to use in the future with my books, one of my friends continued work on her poetry chapbook and experimented with watercolors, and my last friendee that came worked on a beautiful paper collage. 😀

I Absolutely enjoyed my time with my way imaginative friends.  There is something amazing about being creative in the company of a group of friends.

Whether it is writing with my wonderful Scribes Oasis friends or Creating with the ladeez yesterday, I feel inspired, challenged, and energized to express my artistic self more freely and easily.

I know it sounds kind of weird, but it is an uplifting event when you are around people with the same interests.  😀

I’m looking forward to our next meet-up in October.  We are going up north to visit a Hobby Lobby.  I’ve never been to one before!  Yay!  I’m soo excited!!  Hyper-Whoot! 😀 😀

…Sorry, I’m easily amused. Lols  😄

A smattering of what I worked on yesterday…

A Random Doodle turned Psychedelic Larryboy by Complete accident. 😄

Two More Worthy efforts…and without the Trippy Larryboy, I wouldn’t have gotten the color combos down. 😀  Thank you strange Larryboy Doodle. 😄

P.S.-  I know I’ve asked this before, but at the expense of repeating myself. ;)-

Do any of you out there in internet land have Creative-Type Groups that you’re involved in?  Do you feel that they enhance your originality or innovativeness?  Please leave a line or 3 in the comment box below. 🙂

Later Taters and Happy Creating!! 😀

Adventures in Tiny Gardening…

My lovely friend Susan… Yes, the Susan of Sue’s Nook.  😀

She made this Absolutely Adorable Tiny Garden for me!

Fairy Garden

She has become a Masterful Fairy Garden Creator.  Every miniature world she makes comes complete with it’s own original poem written by none other than Sue herself. 😀

Land of Stories

Susan even took the time to fit my special housing needs.  I have Very narrow window sills, but she compensated for this by hunting down a beautiful narrow planter and  a cute little accompanying planter to make up for the limited space in the bigger planter.  Isn’t it just the absolute Most!

I love it, and am absolutely honored to have been given one.

So thank you sooo much Susan! 😀

Please check out Sue’s site and peruse all the cool things there are to see.  🙂

TTFN,

The Bluemoon Thinker  🙂

P.S.- This wonderful gift inspired a Flash Fiction Story… Little Green Gardens.

Thanks Susan! 😀
