Create Date Awesomeness!!!

Yesterday I had a way cool Create Date with two lovely friends. 😀

We are all interested in writing, art, photography, and just all around in general Creative Type Stuff!  So we came up with an idea to have a Create Date.

How it works-

Everyone brings stuff that they would like to work on that they normally wouldn’t take the time to do on their own.

You know how those annoying excuses crop up to keep us away from being creative like:

I just cleaned the house and I don’t want to get it all messy again.

or

If I pull everything out I will want to let it sit out for a day or two while everything dries/hardens/insert other arty type term and then we won’t have a kitchen table to sit at.

or

I don’t want to pull the art stuff out for just Me, do I??

or

Kids: Look, Mom just pulled out the art stuff!

Me: No, wait…

Kids: Dog-pile!!

Me: Aaarrgh…blub..blub..blub.

…I don’t know what sound effect describes being drowned in kids. 😉

Anyhoo, so just us ladies got together and had a fun day of creativity!

I practiced some new art techniques that I’d like to use in the future with my books, one of my friends continued work on her poetry chapbook and experimented with watercolors, and my last friendee that came worked on a beautiful paper collage. 😀

I Absolutely enjoyed my time with my way imaginative friends.  There is something amazing about being creative in the company of a group of friends.

Whether it is writing with my wonderful Scribes Oasis friends or Creating with the ladeez yesterday, I feel inspired, challenged, and energized to express my artistic self more freely and easily.

I know it sounds kind of weird, but it is an uplifting event when you are around people with the same interests.  😀

I’m looking forward to our next meet-up in October.  We are going up north to visit a Hobby Lobby.  I’ve never been to one before!  Yay!  I’m soo excited!!  Hyper-Whoot! 😀 😀

…Sorry, I’m easily amused. Lols  XD

A smattering of what I worked on yesterday…

A Random Doodle turned Psychedelic Larryboy by Complete accident. XD

A “Create Space”…

For the past several months I’ve been doing all of my creative work sitting at my kitchen table.  I like sitting in my kitchen because of the windows.  I love to be outside or near the outside when I’m creating. 😀

But, the downside of working in the kitchen is constantly cleaning up my mess.

Sooooo, I found it was about time for me to find a “Create Space” just for me an my mess.

So, I took over the upstairs foyer area and I’m turning the area into a “Me” area.

It is a work in progress.

It’s an extremely small space, but I have access to two separate closets and a window….I can’t see out of it as I create, but it’s sunlight streaming in, so I’m cool with it. 😀

I will post pics as I get it finished up. 😀

TTFN,

The Bluemoon Thinker 🙂

P.S.- Any of you out there in internet land have a “Create Space” for yourself?  Have any hints or suggestions for a creative use of small spaces for storage and display? Any help would be much appreciated…I’m livin on Pinterest right now dreamin and plottin ideas. Lols

Happy Create Space!! 😀

On Books, Illustrations, and Other Creative-nesses…..

My book is juuuuust about ready for Beta Reader Time (They are the coolio peeps that read over your book and say…Whoa, this is K-rud or Wow, I really enjoyed this or There are a few parts where I was a bit lost or I had a difficult time envisioning the characters or I was sucked into your book and couldn’t drag myself away!) ….I am Kinda gettin’ excited…sorta. Lols 😉

My lovely editor is reading over my book for the second time…Thank you by the way…a little shout out to my Awesome Editor!! 😀

Anyhoo, I’m working on the finishing touches so I can get it into the hands of my Betas.

So, now I have to figure out what I’m gonna do to thank my Beta Readers….cookies? bread? monies? 😮

…..Have a suggestion?  Please give me a few in the comments section. 😀

I’ve drawn some new characters for future books and I’m working on books two and three in the series. 🙂

I still haven’t finished my tooth fairy book yet, but I Will finish it. Lol

I also drew some more ideas for the picture book I’m working on and wrote down a bunch of ideas for a book I’m working on with a friend.  I’m on a Creativite-ness roll. 😀

I have a wonderful friend who we call the Sticker Lady…she’s also known as the Gingerbread Lady as well.  She’s an awesome person!  She always sends my kiddos stickers and sends me all sorts of Snoopy stuff cause I collect Peanuts. 🙂

So, I spent the past two days, when I had a few moments, painting pictures for her.  It was really fun and I’m hoping she likes them….fingers crossed.  I’m also hoping they get to her house in one piece cause I’m putting them in the mail. 🙂

We shall see what happens I suppose.

Anyhoo, tonight is my writers group meeting and I’m off to go write more stuff. 😉

TTFN,

The Bluemoon Thinker 🙂

P.S.-  Any of you out there in internet land creating anything new right now?  How’s it goin?  Leave me a line or 2 in the box below as per the usual.

Happy Creative Juicin’ 😀

To Blog or Not to Blog, that is the Question…

Why

I read an interesting blog post about supporting your following.

The blogger shared about how they wanted a larger following but as their following grew they were losing touch with their original reason for getting said following.

So this got me on board the Random Train of Thought (which of course was barreling down a completely different track)…

Why do I Blog?

Well, that was simple, I thought.  The original reason I started blogging was for followers and to create a platform like all the biggie wiggie writers and writing agents talk about all of the time.

But as I blogged more and more, I realized that blogging really seems to help keep my imagination in peak form and gives all of my ADD thoughts a place to play.

I get all my weirdo Random Thinking out on my blogs and then when I get together with my Writing Posse on Thursday nights…Scribes Oasis…(More on them in a later post)…I can actually concentrate and just Write!

Sort of like when I’m listening to something important, you know like the pastor’s sermon, a really cool writer’s workshop, or a homeschooling convention workshop, I always have something totally Random and usually Estupido pop into my brain.  Like what I need to accomplish when I get home or what do we need for groceries or When is the second half of Dragons: Race to the Edge coming out!  When all those dumb things pop into my brain I start writing them down on a coolio list.

Once I get them all out of my head and down on paper or Ipod…whichever is most convenient at the time… I can focus on listening instead of having all of those wackadoodle thoughts floating around in my brain.

So for me, Blogging acts the same way.  I can get all the Random Things out of my head, on my Random Thoughts Blog.  Keep my imagination running on all cylinders by writing on my Random Stories Blog.  And write about all things Homeschool on my Random Homeschooling Blog.

I get to keep my imagination in peak form aaaaand get all the Randomness out of my head in time for my Scribes Night!!

Thank you WordPress for saving my writing from my Random ADD Brain. Lol 😉

TTFN,

The Bluemoon Thinker/Random Homeschooler 🙂

P.S.-

For those of you that do, why do happy bloggers out there in internet land blog?  Drop me a line or two in the comment box.  Happy Bloggin’ 😀
