Cooking, Typing, and Cheerin’ up a Friend…

So it’s been a fun and Ridiculously busy week!  Writing?  Ha!  What writing!

Arty-ing?  Ha!  What is that…although ALL of my stuff is sitting right where I left it from last week’s Create Date. Lols

…Okay,  scratch that last comment…I did go over to a friend’s house this week and she let me play with her Calligraphy set.  Thank you random citizen!  ;)-

Side note:  I’ve decided to learn calligraphy in my spare time..rofls!..so that I can use it in my picture books.  I think it will look Waaay cool with the watercolor or pencil or whatever it is I end up using on a book.

But back to my topic… Cooking, Typing, and Cheering up a Friendee.

Yesterday I was minding my own business…trying to finish up supper so I could attend my weekly Writer’s group Scribes Oasis.  When I was tagged by a friend to get in on a Rootin’ Tootin’ Sticker Party on Facebook.

That’s my Favorite activity on FB by the way…well, that and reposting comics, funny memes, exercise workouts, and grain-free foodie recipes. 😀

Now, I had a Wonderful time at the party, but sadly my supper did Not.

I burned my chicken twice…because some parties turn into Craziness.  This one did.  There were so many threads to keep track of.  When I finally got out to the kitchen my chicken was feeling a bit singed and tired of the whole FB thing.

So, I finished up my crispy chicken and threw in some garlicky green beans….Of course they were caught up in the whole Facebook party as well and took a turn at feeling overdone a bit…okay maybe blackened a smidge.

The fam said that it all tasted fine in the end, my friendee had a happy time on FB, and I was inspired to write this blog post. 😀

All’s well that ends well, and friends first – food second right?? Ha!  XD

Tomorrow I will be heading to the kick off of our Lancaster Christian Writer’s Group.  Hopefully I learn something fun.  😀

More on that Monday.

TTFN,

The Bluemoon Thinker  🙂

P.S.-  Always remember to attend any and all Facebook Sticker Wars, Partays, or Throw Downs.  They are heaps of fun and everyone Always has a great time.  Friends first- Food second.  Viva  La Stickers!!

Crud!  I think I just burned the bacon!  XD

Happy Overdone-ness! 😀

Create Date Awesomeness!!!

Yesterday I had a way cool Create Date with two lovely friends. 😀

We are all interested in writing, art, photography, and just all around in general Creative Type Stuff!  So we came up with an idea to have a Create Date.

How it works-

Everyone brings stuff that they would like to work on that they normally wouldn’t take the time to do on their own.

You know how those annoying excuses crop up to keep us away from being creative like:

I just cleaned the house and I don’t want to get it all messy again.

or

If I pull everything out I will want to let it sit out for a day or two while everything dries/hardens/insert other arty type term and then we won’t have a kitchen table to sit at.

or

I don’t want to pull the art stuff out for just Me, do I??

or

Kids: Look, Mom just pulled out the art stuff!

Me: No, wait…

Kids: Dog-pile!!

Me: Aaarrgh…blub..blub..blub.

…I don’t know what sound effect describes being drowned in kids. 😉

Anyhoo, so just us ladies got together and had a fun day of creativity!

I practiced some new art techniques that I’d like to use in the future with my books, one of my friends continued work on her poetry chapbook and experimented with watercolors, and my last friendee that came worked on a beautiful paper collage. 😀

I Absolutely enjoyed my time with my way imaginative friends.  There is something amazing about being creative in the company of a group of friends.

Whether it is writing with my wonderful Scribes Oasis friends or Creating with the ladeez yesterday, I feel inspired, challenged, and energized to express my artistic self more freely and easily.

I know it sounds kind of weird, but it is an uplifting event when you are around people with the same interests.  😀

I’m looking forward to our next meet-up in October.  We are going up north to visit a Hobby Lobby.  I’ve never been to one before!  Yay!  I’m soo excited!!  Hyper-Whoot! 😀 😀

…Sorry, I’m easily amused. Lols  XD

A smattering of what I worked on yesterday…

A Random Doodle turned Psychedelic Larryboy by Complete accident. XD

Two More Worthy efforts…and without the Trippy Larryboy, I wouldn’t have gotten the color combos down. 😀  Thank you strange Larryboy Doodle. XD

It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year…

No, it’s not what you’re thinking.

It’s not Christmas yet, although most retail stores will have us thinking it is soon enough. :/

For those of us in the homeschool business it’s the time when we are getting serious about school.

Sure some of us start school in July, but that’s usually easy going if we get to it today, great kinda days.

But now, now is the time for Doin’ School.  Getttin’ er done everyday without fail.

Whoo!!! Smell that?  That’s the smell of pencil lead in the morning, overheating laptops at noon, and sweaty phys ed playin’ kiddos in the afternoon.

Come on year!  I’m ready for ya.

Four more years!  Four more years!

Well, I’m off to teach a cooking class…How to avoid grease splatter and other helpful tips.

TTFN,

The Bluemoon Thinker 🙂

P.S.- It’s Schooltime Baby!! Whoop! Whoop! Whoop!  Can I get a fistpound? ;)-

I was asked by a Very Creative friend of mine…the Tuna inspired proprietor of this Online Café of sorts, to write something about living a creative lifestyle for her blog.

Her request made me think a bit…a very scary place to be for me.  Anyhoo, it brought me to an interesting pattern of thought.  Do I live a creative lifestyle?  What does that creative lifestyle look like to other people?

Months are Jerks and the Year is a Butthead

Did anyone notice how Ridiculously FAST the months of summer have literally Flown by??

For most of the summer I’ve been avoiding, steering clear of, sidestepping and completely ignoring as many of the Creative Leaning things in my life as I possibly could… but No More!

I smacked myself in the head and gave myself a good lecture about wasting time on what-ifs & and signed up for classes on living in the moment… okay, I post a lot of cool inspirational sayings, pictures, and articles on Facebook; that’s pretty much the same thing as taking a class right?…

Anyhoo, I sat down with my Ipod Calendar, dusted off the Notifications button, input my To Do List for the day and tapped repeat daily.

I also created an exercise plan for myself…basically do something Fun, New, and Movement Oriented every day for one hour.

…My hubby Looooves exercise anything so between the exercise equipment collection in the basement, my old workout DVD’s, the hubster’s self-defense and workout books, Youtube, Pinterest, Facebook, and Google I have NO probs finding Something to do. Lols

I was having a tough time avoiding binges on Netflix, Pinterest, Youtube, and Facebook feeds so I made a rule for myself.

Unless I am in motion on the treadmill, the exercise bike, or the elliptical I may NOT get on any of the above before 8:00pm.

…Let’s just say that my lower half would like to give me a Zets in the back of the head or just a full frontal facepalm.  Rofls!!

So, I’m back on track and trying to keep up with all of the Fun-ness!  😀

TTFN,

The Bluemoon Thinker  🙂

P.S.- So, does anyone else think that months are jerks?  Has time been flying while you were having fun or Not so much fun as the case may be this summer?  Leave a comment or two in the box below.

Have an awesome August and remember Keep up with all the Fun-ness!  =)

Con-Graduations! Lols

Life has been extremely busy.  We were busy with graduation party plans for my Randomkid Oldest.  I was going to have my son’s party at a friend’s house, but it didn’t work out to.  So, because I had already put a lot of work into the deck and backyard, we decided to just have the party at our house.  I was really worried about what was going to happen because the most people we ever had at our house was about 20 and it was Pretty tight.  Luckily it was just teens, and for some reason teens don’t mind squishy.  They’re just weird. Lols

We decided to open the entire house up.  We had a lot to do and only a few days to do it.  On top of everything the Randomkid Oldest got sick. 😦

We worked really hard and cleaned, decorated, and rearranged furniture from the top to the bottom of the house and from the front yard to the back yard.

The day of the party the Randomkid Oldest was feeling terribly under the weather, but he pressed on anyway.

We had a fun night planned.  Everything we do at our house is always just a bit different.  So we decided to have a Comedy Roast.

A few friends brought their music stuff so we had a live band.  🙂

One of my awesome sauce friends was our photographer for the evening. 😀

We had snacks, homemade sweets, board games, and video games for the kids and teens to play.

We started out the night and opened the mic up for anyone who had a nice or not so nice story to tell about the Randomkid Oldest.  It was Extremely funny.  We had people telling  embarrassing stories, hysterical stories, and even some nice stories too.  😉  Lol

We handed him his diploma and then everyone came up and prayed over him.

After that, we blessed the food and everyone scattered to go have fun. 😀

We had put a sound system on the deck and the hubby had attached colored lights to the deck railing so when it got dark and the lights got plugged in, everyone oooooohed and aaaaaaahed.

The band played until 10pm cause we were not trying to annoy the neighbors too much.

We didn’t have the last people leave till 11:30pm.  It was a great night overall.

Annnd we didn’t hear a peep from the Randomkid Oldest till 10 am the next day. Rofls!

TTFN,

The Bluemoon Thinker 🙂

P.S.-

Anyone attend Con-Graduation events?  What really stuck out to you as the highlight of the night?  Please leave a line or 3 in the box below as usual.

Happy Con-Graduation!!!! 😀

Veggies, Containers, and Dirt…Oh My!

I found an awesome place near our house where I found heirloom plants for 50¢ a pot.

I bought a ton of various types of plants, but I had no idea what I was getting.

I listed all the plants that I bought, printed out information about them, printed out pictures, and created a notebook for myself.  😀

I bought a slew of cucumber plants 4 climbing cukes, 1 bush, and 1 that I originally thought was a cucumber plant, but was actually a melon that looks and tastes like a cucumber.

I bought a lemon squash, 3 pepper plants, 8 varieties of tomatoe plants and 1 cantaloupe.

Where we live we aren’t allowed to plant anything in the ground so everything had to be potted.

IMG_4302

I found these at the Dollar Tree…I love that place! 😀

IMG_4328

Borrowed these nice deep planters and cages from a friend.  Thanks Nette! 😉

IMG_4345

I found some window frames at a garage sale and found the cool zebra pot for free on the side of the road. 🙂

All in all, every one of the plants are doing fairly well, so I’m happy with them.  I bought a few herbs too and they are thriving also.

I’ll post pics as they get bigger. 🙂

So now I am looking forward to eating my own homegrown veggies. Yay!  😀

TTFN,

The Bluemoon Thinker 🙂
